Business Licensing

Welcome to Payson! We are excited that you are considering being a part of our business environment. We value our existing and new businesses and appreciate the vibrancy you bring to our community.

A business license is required for any business activity. "Business" means and includes every craft, trade, occupation, profession, or activity pursued for gain or profit. Non-profit, charitable, governmental, and insurance agencies are also required to obtain a business license, although they may be exempt from license fees. Be advised that the processing time for a new business license averages 30 days. Please plan accordingly.

A business license from Payson City IS NOT the same as approval from other required agencies and organizations such as: Utah County Health Department, Department of Commerce, Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, Internal Revenue Service, or others.
