Cow Lane Monument

Continue west on 400 North, cross Main St. and continue west 3 1/2 blocks, passing 250 West. Cow Lane Monument is located on the north side of the road.

This marker denotes “Cow Lane.”  Early Payson residents all had cows that were taken to pastures in the morning and returned in the evening by a hired herder.  400 North has pastures to the west and east of town.  This street has been known as “Cow Lane” for more than 100 years.
