Pressurized Irrigation Notice

Pressurized Irrigation Notice to All Residents

The Payson City Water Department is in the process of ensuring that the Pressurized Irrigation system is operational for the 2023 season.  The pressurized irrigation water will be energized beginning on May 9, 2023.  Our sources for the pressurized irrigation come from the lakes in Payson Canyon and the Strawberry High Line Canal.  Please be aware that the beginning of this year’s runoff is filled with sediment from the heavy runoff.  Our filters will remove much of the sediment, however, there is a good chance that your sprinklers will get clogged and will need to be cleaned.  It is recommended that you check and clean your filters often.  Further information, with additional details, will be posted to the website at www.paysonutah.org when it becomes available.

Here are a few things you should know:

  • Once the P.I. system is turned on, it takes a few days for all residents to have water delivered to their sprinkling systems.
  • Make sure your main P. I. valve is turned off now so when the water does make it to your house it doesn’t flood your yard.

Please adhere to the following regulations:

  • Residents with odd numbered addresses (last # of address) shall water on

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.

  • Residents with even numbered addresses (last # of address) shall water on

Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday.

  • Absolutely no watering on Sunday as this allows the system to recover)
  • The most effective times to irrigate are during the evenings and mornings when temperatures are cooler.  Therefore, residents are asked to refrain from watering between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Payson City and other larger water users will be scheduled to use the water during the daytime hours to reserve as much pressure as possible for the residents.

Your cooperation in adhering to these requirements is greatly appreciated.
